Ms Lyons Suaimhneas 2

Welcome to Suaimhneas 2.
Ms. Lyons has moved from mainstream school to Suaimhneas. Mary Lou, Mary and Lorraine form our  Suaimhneas team. Darragh, Ben, Jack, Stephen, Conor and Eolann are the pupils in the class.

Ben is busy making chocolate biscuit cake. It was delicious. We loved eating it. It tasted yummy!



 Darragh is looking forward to tasting some banana smoothie. It had ice-cream in it, Wow!



Stephen is a fantastic chef. He is enjoying eating  our Bircher Museli.


Conor is tasting the pancakes we made. They look delicious!!!



Jack is putting the finishing touch to our buns. Can't wait to try them!

Our theme for February was the Restaurant. We set up a restaurant in the Aistear Room. We dressed up as waiters,chefs etc and had fun with the theme.


We made pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. We learned all about making pancakes. We sequenced the steps to making pancakes in Aistear.




We played number games in the Aistear room. Each player was given two number cards  and who ever could make the biggest number won the round. Every time you won a round you took a cube and whoever had the most cubes at the end of the game won. It was a fun game !!!!!!!!


We had  an exciting visit from the Planetarium to our school. We learned a little about the planets and we saw a fantastic 3D film. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

January was a fantastic month in school. Our Aistear Room was opened. Our class and teacher would like to thank all the parents who gave us toys,books,dress up  clothes and lots and lots of other fun things. It is a magical room. Well done !!!

Out theme for January was The Painting Lesson. We went to the Aistear Room for the first time.
We learned all about Van Gogh. We painted portraits of each other.


We dressed up in the role play corner and took photos of each other.

December was a very busy month in school. We had a Science Exhibition in school. We presented experiments on air. We learned a lot.



Santa came on a surprise visit to our classroom. We love Santa. He gave us lollipops.




We had a Christmas Concert in the hall. We performed a play about Bears.


                                      

Our theme for November was the Birthday Party. We had fun learning about the months of the year. We learned the date of our birthdays.We made birthday balloons for each month of the year and stuck our photos on the month we were born.



We read the story of The Tiger Who Came to Tea. We enjoyed making tiger masks.
We wrote about the story..



We played birthday card games.We had fun adding to totals of  6 and 7. We recorded our work on mini white boards.

October

Our Aistear theme for October was The Garden. We completed lots of fun projects.  We visited Vaughan's Garden Centre. We saw lots of interesting flowers,plants and trees.


We planted  bulbs in school. The garden will be beautiful in Spring.                                                          
                                                                      


We made an Autumn Leaf Collage with lots of different Autumn leaves. It is on display in our room.

Back to School

We came back to school in late August after a long summer holiday. We have been very busy settling in. There are 26 children in Senior Infants and First Class. Our Aistear theme for September was Home. We learned a lot about Homes during the month. It is fun being back in school.
